  • Overview and Responsibilities

    The Manager, Audits & Compliance is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager and Director of Audits & Compliance to manage a team and to gather, organize, and prepare financial data to support various data request items made in conjunction with compliance/financial audits, including: third-party participants’ audits of Paramount, US GAAP financial audits, international statutory audits, and other compliance projects, including but not limited to international tax filings, and transaction analysis. 

     

    Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

    • Assist with external auditors, internal auditors, and quarterly/year-end audit requests
    • Help Sr. Manager and Director - Audits & Compliance  to manage and review the supporting documentation prepared by the team of data support analysts
    • Assign and delegate each request list item to the responsible parties and monitor the timely completion of any outstanding items
    • Perform data extractions and reconcile any discrepancies in order to prepare reports that support financial statement balances
    • Reconcile and review the propriety and reasonableness of financial data received by the various divisions as reported and manage various request list and to understand and explain any unusual activities
    • Compile financial data, remove extraneous data, or redact confidential documentation as deemed necessary prior to providing to external parties
    • Ensure the integrity of the financial models and quality of spreadsheets used in analysis and provided to the respective parties
    • If unusual activities are identified, coordinate with the Sr. Manager and Director – Audits & Compliance (or the appropriate supervisor) as to the proper disposition of these items, if necessary
    • Perform various projects such as research, special projects and statistical analysis as needed

    Basic Qualifications

    • 5+ years of related Finance/Accounting experience. Public accounting or internal audit experience preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting (or related field)
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel 
    • CPA candidate or CPA designation is a plus

    Additional Qualifications

    • Strong (and current) technical knowledge of GAAP
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills and inter-personal skills
    • Ability to multi-task and handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
    • Prior entertainment experience preferred
