  • Overview and Responsibilities

    At Paramount Pictures, our top priority is to provide a safe and secure environment for our employees, tour guests, clients and, vendors.

    • Observe and report activities or incidents at an assigned site, providing for the security and safety of studio property and personnel.
    • Identify potential safety and privacy hazards, and create a secure work environment by working closely with production crews and staff.
    • Patrol assigned site on foot or on bicycle; check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
    • Preserve order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the studio pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
    • Control access to studio site or facility through the admittance process. This includes checking permissions of persons entering the lot and refusing to admit those without appropriate documentation.
    • Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
    • Communicate effectively using hand held radios and telephones in order to receive and disseminate information, as necessary.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
    • Must possess a current, valid Guard Card issued by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)  and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements
    • Must possess a valid Driver License
    • English Language skills (verbal and written) must be at a level to communicate and give directions effectively during emergency situations.
    • Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
    • Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and ladders and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
    • Work in indoor environments, including booths, pedestrian control rooms, stages, offices, lobbies, buildings and parking structures, among others.
    • Work in outdoor environment and be subjected to rain and other weather elements.
    • Lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds.
    • Effectively handle and turn keys, operate a keyboard (type information and reports) and grasp and manipulate hand held radios,
    • Must be available a minimum 3 days per week able to work any shift, which include night shift (2pm-10:30pm) and graveyard shift (10pm – 6:30am)
    • Successfully pass a background check and random drug screenings

    Additional Qualifications

    • Prior military or law-enforcement experience or 2 years security experience in a  related field
    • Possess valid basic CPR/AED Training Certificate
    • Emergency operations and first-aid knowledge
    • Salary: $16.00 to $23 per hour / Union Affiliated
