  • Overview and Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for accounting and reporting matters in support of Paramount Pictures International Theatrical Division with a focus on directing staff on international theatrical territory GAAP and Statutory reporting. Responsibilities to include: 

    • Overseeing processes and transactions for the international theatrical business including relationships with 8 international subsidiary offices, 7 sub-distributor relationships in other countries and one joint venture relationship
    • Responsible for the timely completion of monthly and quarterly accounting close cycles
    • Understanding and presenting international accounting transactions in a clear and concise manner to staff and others across the organization. These can include international foreign exchange and CTA, international MPA association transactions, VAT / GST, withholding and turnover taxes in international jurisdictions.
    • Working with international accounting firms to ensure that statutory audits in eight countries are completed in a timely, effective manner allowing for the timely filing of financial statements with local authorities.
    • Responsible for various sub ledger and other systems’ electronic feeds to and out of SAP, identifying any issues raised by staff and coordination with IT to resolve issues.
    • Leading a team of three senior financial analysts.
    • Interacting regularly with BDS (Business Decision Support) staff across 8 countries regarding their local theatrical business
    • Coordinating responses on all ad-hoc queries relating to international theatrical transactions
    • Continuous improvement of processes and reporting, including working with IT project management and programmers.
    • Interacting with all levels across many of the divisions within Paramount including, internal audit, IT, Corporate, Legal, Shared Services, Sales and local Business Decision Support Staff in Paramount theatrical international subsidiary offices.  

    Basic Qualifications

    • 7+ years progressive experience in financial controllership
    • BA in finance/accounting or related filed required; CPA/MBA strongly preferred
    • Prior supervisory experience 
    • Experience with SAP (R3) and Business Warehouse (BW) required

    Additional Qualifications

    • Experience in entertainment / international controllership preferred
    • Experience with Hyperion & Essbase preferred
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines in a high volume environment
    • Self-starter with ability to proactively identify issues and propose resolutions
    • Strong attention to detail and results driven work ethic
