  • Overview and Responsibilities

    The Senior Financial Analyst assists the Director of FP&A in the creation of the annual budgets, quarterly estimates, monthly updates and business plans for Paramount partners releases (including but not limited to Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, CBS, Showtime and 3rd party acquisitions). Responsibilities includes: 

    • Interfaces with Sales/Marketing/Operations to gather relevant data to build the business plans
    • Assists with monitoring and analyzing monthly and quarterly performance to plan
    • Researches and inquires variances to financial plan to gain understanding of cause and impacts to revised forecast/monthly submission
    • Assists in the development of financial models and analysis to determine new release / catalog strategy and profitability
    • Assists in the creation/maintenance of financial templates used for promotional programs
    • Understands the overall risks of certain financial plans and assists the VP and Director of FP&A in finding solutions to mitigate them
    • Utilizes, automates, and improves the existing applications that are being used
    • Performs on-going reporting and analytical projects as well as on an ad-hoc basis as requested by senior management

    Basic Qualifications

    • 2+ years of financial planning, accounting and/or finance experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
    • Ability to streamline models and increase data accuracy using Excel
    • Attention to detail and strong oral and written communication skills are required; able to research thoroughly and present accurate information precisely and confidently

    Additional Qualifications

    • Experience with Hyperion Essbase preferred 
    • Home video / consumer package background preferred
