  • Overview and Responsibilities

    This Financial Analyst, Corporate Reporting is responsible for playing a key role in managing and reporting all charges and credits between Paramount and Viacom. Responsibilities include: 

    • Processes journals for bank activity
    • Manages and produces reports with an in depth understanding of the nature of the transactions behind the charges and prepares the appropriate inter-company journal entries accordingly – distributes reports to Paramount Corporate planning, and overhead and capital budgeting groups
    • Reconciles and confirms Paramount inter-company balances with respective Viacom intercompany partners
    • Reconciles corporate balance sheet accounts (excluding bank reconciliations)
    • Reconciles outstanding check lists from banks to General Ledger
      Reviews interest income/expense for consolidated Paramount, ensuring balances are appropriate
    • Reviews non-operating income and losses, ensuring balances are appropriate
    • Reviews gains/losses from Discontinued Operations, ensuring balances are appropriate
    • Reviews equity income from unconsolidated subsidiaries and related taxes, ensuring balances are appropriate
    • Prepares all corporate group journal entries, including set up of recurring journal entries
    • Reviews and clears corporate lockbox receipts and other unapplied cash
    • Ensures all corporate group journal entries have required supporting documentation
    • Ensures all parked journal entries have been approved and posted during period close

    Basic Qualifications

    • 1+ year of finance/accounting related experience (including internships)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
    • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
    • Must be detail oriented and possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to perform detailed research and provide solution driven results

    Additional Qualifications

    • Strong (and current) technical knowledge of US GAAP preferred 
    • Previous experience with Hyperion systems preferred
    • SAP General Ledger experience preferred
