Overview and Responsibilities

Paramount Pictures Corporation (PPC), a global producer and distributor of filmed entertainment, is a unit of Viacom (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), a leading content company with prominent and respected film, television and digital entertainment brands. This position is responsible for providing oversight and is a key member of the team that conducts energy savings capital improvement projects and continuous process improvements activities. 


Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Directs the conceptual design of electrical energy engineering projects, while also investigating and resolving problems within scope of work or cost issues of major facility infrastructure upgrades and replacement projects
  • Supervisory/management responsibilities and will manage project budget on highly technical and complex projects
  • Design development, energy modeling, and life cycle costs projections of the facilities electrical machinery that support the infrastructure, support services, and production needs
  • Develop, plan and implement goals and objectives for the Engineering Department energy initiates, electrical infrastructure and maintenance including reduction of operational costs
  • Prepare the financial and performance justifications (payback analysis, ROI, IRR) for projects in conjunction with Finance group
  • Develop and submit Capital funding requests
  • Coordinate electrical energy engineering activities with other departments, divisions and external utility entities; provide responsible advice and counsel to other Paramount entities
  • Work with management team to define long-term electrical systems infrastructure requirements, serving office, stage, post-production, and information technology systems
  • Lead in establishing Paramount's equipment and building ECM (Energy Conservation Measures) specifications and standards
  • Work with cross-functional team to determine Paramount's sustainability goals
  • Review and analyze electrical engineering documents and plans, vendor specifications and installation methodologies; project schedules and costs
  • Ensure all Planning and Development design documents conform to standards, reflect the intent of design and are accurate as-builts
  • Ensure that the utilities and infrastructure continues to perform as designed thru continuous process improvement energy audits and monthly reporting of energy usage
  • Change agent to utilize corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance as key driver for capital investment, as well as to alignment investment with Paramount business objectives
  • Define key metrics for operational energy usage and implement a cross functional reporting tool in conjunction with key energy engineering staff that is fully automate

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years practical experience in electrical energy systems and building electrical systems
  • Minimum 10 years practical experience in campus environment energy systems
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Energy Related field of study

Additional Qualifications

  • Broad-based knowledge of energy savings methodologies, project management, commercial building design, construction, and maintenance with a strong background in utility and infrastructure equipment and systems, control systems, including building management system interfaces, and technical power systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Powerpoint, Sharepoint and Autodesk AutoCad
  • Proficient in understanding, designs, applications and operations of:
    • Electrical systems one-lines, control diagrams and schematics
    • Electrical building infrastructure systems, High, medium and low voltage systems, Stand-bys and emergency power systems
    • Fault current calculations
    • Title 24 calculations, Voltage drop calculations
    • Motor control systems
    • Lighting and lighting control systems
    • Underground distribution systems
    • High-resistance, ground fault, and technical grounding systems
    • Specification writing and interpretation
    • Construction/electrical/mechanical drawings
    • Construction budgeting and control
    • Change order management
    • Possess a thorough understanding of Six Sigma methodologies
    • Energy Management Certification
    • LEED Accreditation
