Overview and Responsibilities

Paramount Pictures Corporation (PPC), a global producer and distributor of filmed entertainment, is a unit of Viacom (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), a leading content company with prominent and respected film, television and digital entertainment brands. PPC operations also include Paramount Famous Productions, Paramount Home Media Distribution, Paramount Pictures International, Paramount Licensing Inc., and Paramount Studio Group.


This position will be responsible for the definition, collection and analysis of archive inventory and operational metrics.  This includes importing, transforming, validating and modeling of data with the purpose of forming conclusions in order to drive decision making within Archives and Technical Operations.


The inventory includes digital and physical assets of all types, including moving images, text documents, stills, audio and other key creative rich digital media types.


Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Definition of metrics required to support executive level decisions within Technical Operations
  • Develop and maintain the technical toolsets and databases required to collect and aggregate data necessary for analysis and reporting
  • Create charts, graphs and tables as necessary to communicate findings and conclusions.
  • Work with Information Technology partners to implement data analytic solutions
  • Support key technical projects which require data modeling and analysis
  • Work with operational managers of Paramount’s Digital and Physical Asset Management systems to maximize system and operational throughput

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience w/ data analytics in relation to digital and physical archives
  • Experience in Studio Technical Operations or Post Production Department working with Digital “File Based” Media within system supported file based workflows is a plus
  • Bachelors Degree in math, statistics, computer science, engineering, library and information sciences or equivalent experience in data science or analytics related field

Additional Qualifications

  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • Experience with SQL, HTML, Shell Scripting, Databases, Reporting Systems and Programming
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Graphing Toolsets
  • Ability to communicate with IT resources related to the definition and implementation of requirements and functional design within the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Interest or background in library or archival sciences
