Overview and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for negotiating and structuring complex development, production, distribution, rights acquisitions and other agreements for Paramount motion picture business affairs.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for business affairs functions, including all phases of negotiations on projects in development and production 
  • Negotiate development deals, talent deals, acquisition of motion picture rights, acquisition of select distribution rights, co-productions, etc. for live action and animated motion pictures
  • Collaborate with, provide advice to and synthesize feedback from management
  • Handle other general motion picture business affairs projects, as assigned
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the latest developments in the law and technology as they relate to the development, production and distribution of content

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a JD Degree
  • Must be a member in good standing of California Bar
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • Minimum of 4 years at major entertainment law firm or motion picture legal department at major studio, or entry level experience in business affairs department at major studio

  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; demonstrate ability to work in partnership with the company’s business areas, including creative, physical production, production and legal
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Must be able to work under tight timelines and meet deadlines
  • Superior organization and project management skills are necessary
  • Ability to move multiple projects forward simultaneously, and have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
