This position is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the various filings required in all international Paramount territories for statutory, tax, production entities, audit and other compliance requirements.  This includes supervision of the process, coordination and organization of data from local territory, production entity stakeholders, corporate accounting department, and/or the respective accounting firms to ensure all filing requirements are completed on a timely basis.  This also includes obtaining the proper accounting records and understanding the nature of any journal entries and adjustments in order to perform detailed statutory to GAAP reconciliations in support of each required filing.  This individual is also responsible for the overall engagement management; execution of SOWs, raising POs and ensuring services fees have been properly budgeted for.  This role will monitor the progression of any audits or filings, as well as research and address problems.  The Director- International Audit and Compliance may also be required to manage ad-hoc projects which could arise during the audit/filing process or as a result of findings during such audits/filings. 

 

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Act as the central point of contact between external service providers (audit and/or accounting firms) and Paramount departments and/or executives.
  • Assist with the management of audit or filing requests, coordination, and scheduling.
  • Keep SVP – Finance on updated on the status and timing of various projects and prepare to communicate progress through periodic reporting as deemed necessary.
  • Plan and monitor progress throughout project lifecycles, working closely with various Paramount stakeholders to ensure timely gathering of data and ensuring filing requirements are met.

This position is responsible for handling complex intellectual property (IP) matters for Paramount Pictures.

 

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Supervise teams within Intellectual Property department regarding rights management and other production- and distribution-related matters.
  • Research and analyze complex questions regarding development, production and/or distribution rights, as well as attendant contractual obligations regarding motion picture and television projects.
  • Oversee the management and resolution of IP-related legal claims and litigations, including coordination of factual research, development of legal positions and strategy, preparation of discovery responses and collection of responsive documents, working with outside counsel and across business units as necessary.
  • Provide advice with respect to motion picture and television clearance matters; support and help set policies for the Clearance Department.

This position is responsible for assisting the department with ensuring compliance with applicable local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. This position requires initiative and independent judgment in routine and emergency situations. 

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assists with a broad range of environmental health and safety programs (IIPP, Confined Space, In Use on Road, etc.) to stay in compliance with associated regulations (CAL/OHSA, FED OSHA, SCAQMD, CARB, DOT, NFPA70E, etc.).
  • Assists with permitting, monitoring, and reporting in compliance with local and federal agencies both onsite and off-site locations.
  • Interprets governmental rules, regulations, ordinances and codes
  • Responds to requests of EHS concerns on a day-to day basis including requests for indoor air quality testing, water damage, asbestos and lead sampling, and PPE, fall protection.
  • Arranges and conducts facility EHS trainings, maintains records and attends facilities meetings.
  • Manages the LOTO program including developing machine/equipment specific LOTO procedures, maintaining and reviewing existing LOTO procedures.
  • Responsible for all aspects of hazardous waste storage and disposal including characterizing, labeling and packaging hazardous waste for shipment according to State, US EPA & DOT regulations.  Prepare and maintain all required documentation
  • Leads the HAZWOPER team, manages all spill response activities and is responsible for coordinating spill response activities with Facilities personnel.
  • Manages Paramount’s asbestos and lead sampling program. Assists in scheduling abatements, abatement oversight and emergency abatements as necessary.
  • Conducts regular EHS inspections (hazardous waste cages, satellite accumulation areas, first aid kits, blood borne pathogens kits, machine guarding)  to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations.

This position is responsible for overseeing and driving the strategic development of brand/marketing initiatives and results pertaining to Paramount’s library.

This position will direct the financial planning & analysis (FP&A), capital planning, and strategy & decision support for the Paramount Pictures Studio Group division.  The position reports directly to the SVP of Finance for the Studio Group.
